Lead is often discussed through a single lens: its industrial value or its hazards. A useful account needs to understand both. Element82 brings applications, recovery systems and responsible material management into the same conversation.
We support appropriate uses with demonstrable value, longer useful service where feasible and accountable material recovery. We also recognise that a different material may be the better choice in a particular application.
Our perspective
This is an educational and advocacy initiative with a positive interest in lead’s role in a circular economy. Element82 is funded by companies active in the lead battery and lead chemicals value chain. Its content should be assessed alongside the cited evidence, including evidence of limitations and risks.
The material-flow explorer is an educational model with visible assumptions. It is not a performance claim for a company, a certification scheme or a life-cycle assessment.

Why Element82?
The name starts with lead’s atomic number. It leaves room for an open discussion of the whole material: how it behaves, where it is useful and the systems needed to use and recover it responsibly.
